Pennington shareholder Michael J. Thomas Provides Insight on Trial Tactics and Ethics for Legal Professionals Gathered in Tallahassee

Legal professionals from throughout Florida gathered in Tallahassee this week for a seminar highlighting the building blocks of practicing civil litigation.
From the keys to establishing a strong case during pre-trial discovery, to considerations to be made when selecting a jury, to trial tactics and legal ethics, a group of the state's leading legal practitioners provided insight and shared their expertise with those gathered at the seminar sponsored by the National Business Institute (NBI).
Among those speaking at the seminar in Tallahassee was Pennington, Moore, Wilkinson, Bell & Dunbar shareholder Michael J. Thomas. A tested civil defense attorney, who has been identified by his peers as one of Florida's Legal Elite in Florida Trend's annual survey, Thomas gave an overview of the tactics central to practicing successful trial law, as well as the ethical pitfalls that can compromise a case.
Civil litigation is high-stakes and whether you are a plaintiff's attorney or a defense lawyer, there are some core components and ethics that all legal practitioners always need to remember, Thomas said. This is an opportunity for legal professionals to come together and discuss the importance of those components which are considered the rudiments of civil litigation.
Throughout the first week of November, NBI hosted similar seminars in Jacksonville and Gainesville, in addition to the November 6 seminar in Tallahassee. NBI provides continuing education and training for legal and other business professionals.
