Supreme Court Chief Justice Fred Lewis Commends Pennington Shareholder
TALLAHASSEE Pennington Law Firm shareholder Michael J. Thomas was recently recognized by Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Fred Lewis for his pro bono work in Florida.
Mr. Thomas provides his legal services pro bono to the Senior Center through Legal Services of North Florida. Mr. Thomas' practice focuses on insurance defense litigation, including medical malpractice defense, product liability, premises liability and general civil litigation.
In a letter recognizing his pro bono work, Chief Justice Fred Lewis praised Mr. Thomas, We thank you for giving freely and unselfishly of your time and legal talent to represent the poor, the powerless, the defenseless and the oppressed among us. Your work represents the promise of equal justice for all.
Only attorneys who volunteer and report their hours to an organized legal aid program are eligible for the recognition.
Being recognized by Chief Justice Lewis for my pro bono work is an honor, Mr. Thomas said. I enjoy doing the work and think its important work to ensure that all individuals have access to legal counsel.
