Pennington shareholder, Douglas S. Bell, elected president of the Tallahassee Community College Foundation.

TALLAHASSEE — Pennington Law Firm shareholder, Douglas S. Bell, has been elected as President of the Tallahassee Community College Foundation. The Tallahassee Community College (TCC) Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation seeking the private funds that provide distinction in the educational programs and facilities at TCC. The Foundation is guided by a board of community leaders who provide stewardship over all funds raised by the Foundation. Its mission is to support the College by strengthening connections to the community, promoting excellence in teaching, and providing access for student success. The Foundation provided over $285,000 in scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Mr. Bell's primary fundraising goal as President of the foundation will be the Ghazvini Center for Health Care Education. The Ghazvini Center will be a state-of-the-art training facility to help meet the ever present need for well-prepared health care professionals. The new building will feature cutting-edge classrooms, conference rooms, a library, laboratory space, a simulation center, and administrative offices. As a shareholder at the Tallahassee-based Pennington law firm, Mr. Bell's practice concentrates primarily on governmental affairs and administrative law. He was formerly with the Daytona Beach law firm of Cobb Cole & Bell, where he focused on estate planning and real property law. Mr. Bell has received an AV rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, has been named in Florida Trend Magazine as a member of the Florida Legal Elite, and is listed in the 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
