Insurance Regulatory Practice

The Pennington Firm provides representation to insurance companies (domestic and foreign), reinsurance brokers, related financing entities, agents, agencies and insurance trade associations.

This practice area represents clients before the Florida Department of Financial Services, the Office of Insurance Regulation, as well as other state insurance regulatory agencies, in insurer formation, acquisition, re-domestication, re-organization, market conduct examination, financial reporting, demutualization, form and rate approval, reinsurance cessation and retrocession, bid strategy, and Department rule and policymaking.

The practice group also is well positioned to resolve issues related to agents, brokers and agencies, and TPAs, including regulation, appointment and contracts, as well as licensing and compliance services relating to the service contracts/extended warranties industry.

The insurance regulatory practice area works closely with the Pennington Firm's governmental and legislative affairs practice area in order to effectively represent insurance clients in the ever-changing legislative arena.

This practice area also represents various companies before other state insurance regulatory agencies.  In addition, members of the insurance regulatory practice group actively monitor issues and activities under consideration by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners on behalf of our clients.
